You may be familiar or have heard about the virtue of living in the present. Yet at times we find it difficult to notice that we are in the present because we are either thinking about the past or busy planning for our future. The present moment or the eternal now can’t be forced. Will power, focus or good intentions can’t bring you present awareness. So what can bring us back to the present moment?  It is very useful to have an anchor that can bring us back to the present moment. I personally like using my breath or any of my five senses as anchors. I find breathing connects my mind with my body and is always there and always present. In your day to day life, you can simply reconnect with your present through any one sense, like paying attention to the sounds around you, or the sights before you. Other people use a mantra, colouring mandalas, or candles just to name a few.  I want to leave you with this question: Do you have an anchor to bring you back to the present moment?  Remember when you feel at peace and at home within yourself the present moment starts to unfold.
